“வினைத்திட்பம் என்பது ஒருவன் மனத்திட்பம் மற்றைய எல்லாம் பிற.” (Kural 661)

“Actions are as strong as the mind’s resolve; other talents lack this foundation.”

This profound message emphasizes the importance of mental determination and steadfastness. Our ancestors understood that true success is rooted in the strength of one’s mind, passing this wisdom down through generations.

Let me share a personal story. For years, I was daunted by the physical and mental demands of any adventure like paragliding, marathon, or even hiking up hills, a fear carried from childhood due to the breathing difficulties I always had.   The fear of not finishing or failing held me back. However, inspired by the ancient wisdom of Thiruvalluvar, I realized that achieving my goal required mental firmness and unwavering determination.

I began by setting small, manageable goals—starting with short runs and gradually increasing the distance and increasing my breathing capacity through yoga. With each milestone, my confidence grew, and I learned to push through mental barriers. Eventually, I completed my first marathon years back, enjoyed paragliding, and even climbed a small mountain on its steep rocky steps to the temple on the top. the experience reinforced the power of mental perseverance.

This journey taught me that overcoming self-doubt and embracing mental strength can lead to achieving your dreams. It’s a lesson that continues to inspire me.
